Welcome! I'm so glad you stopped by. Here at Trina Layne you'll find all of the information on my book, It's Not Just You, It Was Me Too,' as well as some of my personal insights into gardening. I'll take you on a walk through my own garden and coming soon, I will have all kinds of information on milling fresh grain and making your own REAL Bread. It is my prayer that as you visit my pages, you'll find something helpful that you can take away with you. Please follow me on YouTube and on Instagram for the latest content.
Having retired after more than twenty years of being a co-owner with her husband in their RV business, Trina now spends quiet days at home, enjoying daily visits from her grandchildren, whose home is just 100 steps away from her front door. Along with writing, she enjoys gardening, having bible studies in her home, and most recently she has taken up milling her own grain and making REAL bread. She is the wife of 38 years to a wonderful man, mom to one amazing daughter, and proud Meni to three beautiful grandchildren. An animal lover at heart, she has three little senior dogs and several rescued cats. Her life is centered around her family, her strong faith in Jesus and her desire to help others find a true and lasting relationship with him.
"It is my heart's desire as you come to the last page, that you will have learned how you can know without any doubt that you are worthy and truly loved beyond measure. I pray for you to see that you are not alone in your feelings of unworthiness and helplessness... of being unloved and rejected... of anxiousness and bitterness- that it was me too!"
Trina begins in the first chapter, by sharing her own lifetime struggle with anxiety and how God has helped her to live not just with it, but above it. In chapter three, she tells all about growing up in a legalistic home, sharing her own doubts of self-worth and how it affected the majority of her adult life. She walks you through her journey, explaining how she finally found God's grace to live free. In chapter five, she shares of her time caring for her elderly father and the feelings of helplessness that she experienced along the way. Anyone on a similar journey will see that she fully understands what it means to be a caregiver. She has included chapters dedicated to parenting advice from her own perspective and what it looks like to have healthy relationships. Throughout the book, she shares many personal poems as they relate to the subject matter.
Trina says that her goal in writing this book was to help others realize they are not alone in their struggles, that no matter what trial or heartache the reader is going through in their own life, there is a way for them to experience freedom and find love, hope, joy and peace in the midst of it all.
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."
Trina began gardening four years ago. What started out as a little idea, grew into somewhat of a rather big thing. As you will see on her IN THE GARDEN page, she doesn't necessarily mean big in size, but rather big in the production of it.
Over the course of the last fifteen years or so, she and her family have chosen to eat as clean and organic as they possibly can. However, she says that this has become more difficult to do in recent years because of the declining food chain industry and the poor quality of food being sold in the big super markets and local grocery stores. It wasn't long before she realized that buying 'organic' doesn't always mean that your food is without chemicals, but having a garden and growing your own produce does ensure you that your food is as clean as it can possibly be. Trina says that wanting to eat without the worry of chemicals on her food, along with being able to sustain nutrition in a time of emergency, is what propelled her on into her gardening journey. She says that while gardening is hard work, it is so worth it when it comes time to eat, and the reward that it brings from seed to table is unmatchable. She hopes you will enjoy the pictures of her own garden and that they will inspire you to have one of your own. She says if she can do it, you can too!
I have written a garden e-book that will soon be available for purchase. Please visit my IN THE GARDEN' page here on my website for more on my garden and follow me on Instagram and on YouTube to see more of my gardening content.
